High time the selectors rethought the Indian batting line-up for Tests - with Robin Singh in as a good batsman and fielder, who could chip in with wickets a la Mohinder Amarnath.
It is good to see exclusive web pages and Fan Clubs for Robin Singh on the Internet. He is my favourite Indian Cricketer right now.
Robin Singh's performance in the World Cup 1999 with both ball and bat were good -
Overall, he had nice 6s in each super six match - against Aus, Pak and NZ. His trademark, casual-seeming, huge hits over midwicket greatly endeared him to Indian Cricket Audiences and world cricket lovers. He is truly a very explosive hitter, and, after he has settled down for an over or two, all international teams have to be absolutely sure nothing is pitched around his legs or outside the offstump.
Surprisingly, Robin and Jadeja earn the sobriquet of 'bits and pieces players'. Indian Cricket does not think it fit to find players like him in the Test Cricket Team. The Indian Selectors have yet to select a good team - the notable exception, the 1983 World Cup winning team.
